My roots are in Ohio in the American Midwest but life has taken me all over the world. I’ve spent three decades working in nonprofits and philanthropy and have grown more and more disillusioned with the status quo. Though we often speak in the change sector about doing things differently, we all too often default to models from the business world. I’m deeply curious about ways that governance and decision making can be more relational. I bring a background in education, organizational dynamics, history, and language to my work. I am the father of adult daughters and live in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
